Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document includes essential terms, conditions, insurance specifics, charges, and the responsibilities tied to your rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A full, valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are necessary, as well as any other stipulations outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments in Hendon
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Hendon office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The balance and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All charges are in British Pounds (£) and include any applicable VAT. We process payments securely through trusted providers, accepting major credit and debit cards.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, please ensure it is in the same condition as received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may attract additional fees, so please contact us as soon as possible if a delay is expected. During the rental period, you are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- Basic third-party insurance is included with all vehicle rentals in Hendon. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless covered by extra insurance. Negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous pursuits. The transport of hazardous materials, sub-letting, or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of substances, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating the vehicle outside approved geographical areas without authorization are also violations of our terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or for fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any legal disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon their publication on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
